Eat, Drink and Feed Others

Help fight hunger by eating.

Help fight hunger while you’re stuffing your face at the Philadelphia Taste of the Nation Culinary Fundraiser.

The Share Our Strength organization wants to make sure that no American kid suffers from hunger, so on Monday, June 21, they are bringing their efforts to Philadelphia.

In the Millennium Ballroom in the Lowes Hotel, Philly's favorite restaurants will provide more than enough food and drinks to go around.

Bravo’s "Top Chef" finalist Jennifer Carroll is the Chef Chair of the event and will also be fixing up some fine food.

What about the drinks, you ask? You will be able to wash down your food with unique cocktails, fine wine and beer. From Stella Artois to Leffe, Taste of a Nation has you covered.

But eating isn’t all there is to do. You can also help fight hunger by participating in both the silent and live auctions. Items on the list span from restaurant to hotel gift certificates. Also, Metisse, a Philadelphia-based jazz ensemble, will provide some musical entertainment.

Tickets are $85 in advance and $95 at the door. Give a little more to upgrade your admission to VIP status ($125 in advance, $125 at door) and receive an extra hour of time, get an exclusive look at the auction and much more. All of the ticket sales proceeds will go directly to stopping hunger.

It is alarming that more than 20-percent of Philadelphia residents are living below the hunger line, along with 260,000 people at hunger risk. Multiple local area organizations, including Philabundance, will benefit from the charity event.
