City Tap House's Craft Beers

Rare craft beer and American fare coming to University City.

University City will be home to the newest bar on Walnut St. City Tap House opens on Monday, May 10 and boosts 60 of the most sought-after craft beers, a delicious menu and plenty of outdoor seating -- perfect for the warm summer months.

“We’re excited to be joining University City’s growing restaurant community,” says owner Gary Cardi in a statement. We hope to bring something new, combining beer, food and our large outdoor space that isn’t offered here now.”

Cardi is just one of four co-owners of the Tap House, but they're not the only important people behind the scenes. Andre Farrell is the Pub's beer steward, so you can thank him for all the wonderful brew choices when you get there.

“This is a bar for guests who want to take the time to experience and savor interesting and unusual craft beers,” says Cardi.

Culinary Director Brian Cooke and Executive Chef Al Paris have teamed up to create a culinary masterpiece that includes crispy Gulf oysters, Rosemary mint grilled lamb chop and pan-seared grouper.

“Our food pairs beautifully with any of our draught beer offerings, but the menu also stands on its own as an example of humble bar food elevated to its finest form,” says General Manager Gordon Dinerman.

City Tap House will serve lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
