Everyone knows how well beer pairs with burgers, pizza, cheesesteaks and barbeque but… oysters? You'd be surprised!
Tonight and through the weekend (the event starts at 6:00 each night), the folks at Yards Brewery will be at London Grill in Fairmount to prove that their Love Stout pairs just as well with raw bivalves as champagne. With special prices on oysters and the tapping of a seasonal beer, this may be the one Valentine's Day event you can't miss.
The event is a cornucopia of aphrodisiacs – with its chocolate and smoky notes, Love Stout completes the trifecta of foods-that-put-you-in-the-mood. Yards brewmaster Tom Kehoe will be on hand to guide you through the tasting, if you can hold yourself back from sucking 'em down (the oysters and/or the beer). You'll be well-schooled after a few pints and a dozen oysters, and quite possibly a little buzzed to boot!
