That Guy: Spencer Kennedy

This week's That Guy Profile is Spencer Kennedy.

This week's Profile is Spencer Kennedy of  Mt. Airy. Philly Fashion guru Sabir Peele tells us why Spencer is this week's That Guy.

What I like about this look?

It is clear that Spencer is well aware of the color chino trend that is huge this year in menswear and is equally appropriate for spring. The fact that he went with such a popping periwinkle blue color is bold and shows his confidence in his personal style. I really like that he  took a risk by mixing such a bold color choice in his chinos, with the almost polar opposite black cardigan and button up shirt. By adding a camel belt and shoes, he was able to pull together these otherwise, non-complementary colors in this outfit together and look effortlessly cool at the same time.

Where could this outfit be worn?

This would be a perfect outfit for a spring casual Friday work day in the non-corporate sector. These bold blue pants, definitely lend themselves to being worn at events like a bbq or outdoor party. Adding the cardigan to this look makes it a great transitional that can be worn in the warmer part of the day, while still being able to keep you warm at the night. Remember, if you are wearing this cardigan and you are on a date with a young woman, this is the time to be chivalrous and offer up your cardigan to keep her warm. It's a win-win situation!

Where can you buy this particular look?

If you are in the market for a pair of color chinos, brands like Bonobos, H&M and J.Crew all carrying them in-store and online. A light-weight cardigan is definitely a style staple this spring. Not only are they stylish, but, they will keep you warm when it get cooler at night. Brands like Ralph Lauren, Michael Bastian and J.Crew carry a great selection of light-weight cardigans that can be easily mixed into your wamer weather wardrobe. Camel color loafers are extremely versatile and are great for pulling looks together. Brands like Johnston & Murphy, Allen Edmonds and Ralph Lauren all carry camel color loafers that can really complement an outfit like this one.

Style Tip?

This look is definitely not for the sartorial novice. If this is your first time experimenting with bold color pants, think about grounding your look with a complementary neutral color shirt. In terms of shoes, opt for a pair of shoes with a little sleeker silhouette for a more professional look. Remember this look is extremely versatile, so mix up your footwear by adding a pair of boat shoes
