This week's profile is Mike Oxman from Philadelphia. Mike works for Cole Haan & Commonwealth Proper. Philly fashion guru Sabir Peele tells you why Mike is this week's "That Guy."
What I like about this look?
I like how Mike was able to mix traditional "gentlemen" pieces (silk tie, tie bar, silk pocket square and wool blazer), with his casual pieces (jeans and suede oxford boots).
Where could this outfit be worn?
Ironically, I ran into Mike while he was working at Cole Hann, in Center City. He was able to show his personal style at work and also keep his look work appropriate. This outfit has the flexibility to be worn on a date, a lounge, or just a day around the city.
Where can you buy this particular look?
If you’re in the market for a wool blazer, head over to J.Crew or Banana Republic. Polo by Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers are great stores to find silk, polka dot, ties. You can also find a pocket square for your blazer’s breast pocket, at Ralph Lauren as well.
It’s important to visit a tailor to find out what your exact measurements are. When you have a proper fit pieces will accentuate your height. When you have the skills, like Mike does to mix traditional wear and casual wear, you’ll be able to extend your wardrobe combination.
