What I like about this look.
This outfit is the perfect combination of laid back and put together. Notice how the ensemble offers both structure and disarray. The platform heeled booties and skinny fit jeans create a definite shape on the bottom, while the wide-knit poncho, oversized beret, and buttoned cardigan sit away from her body in folds of fabric up top. The top portion of this outfit works quite well, because she has clearly defined the contours of her body on the bottom, preventing the oversized poncho and sweater from swallowing up her body. If she was wearing loose bottoms (like a parachute pant), she would appear larger than her actual size .The same can be said for the reverse, though not as often—if you wear something baggier on the bottom, make sure that you wear something much more closely cut to the body on top.
Where could this outfit be worn?
This ensemble is excellent for everyday social events: house parties, shopping with your friends, going out for casual dining, concerts, etc.

My one styling tip would be to change absolutely nothing about this outfit. She has accessorized with a bright gold watch that helps to bring out the golden buttons on her cardigan. The deep green of the poncho works well with her black hair and creamy complexion. The heels give her length and better posture, while the beret helps make her luxurious locks appear all the more desirable. She is layering her pieces, creating depth, and to top it all off, she is wearing nerdy glasses. Nerdy glasses are always a plus!
