That Girl: Laynie

This week's That Girl Profile is Laynie.

This week's profile is Laynie from Germantown. Philly fashion guru Catriona Whitehead tells us why Laynie is this week's "That Girl."

What I like about this look.

She looks put-together and comfortable—you don’t have to sacrifice one to have the other. She has on a fitted straight leg pant with a belted blazer and some moccasins. The little adjustment of choosing a ballerina pink blazer, rather than your usual black/navy/or brown, nudges this outfit to the next level. She solidifies the deal by wearing a headband across her forehead (a retro piece turned modern). Furthermore, the headband ties the moccasins into the outfit (they are both brown and fit the overall softness of the ensemble).

Where could this outfit be worn?

This outfit is good for parties, clubbing, dinner, etc. All things evening and relatively casual.

Where can you buy this particular look?

With the shoulder pads and pink hue, the blazer looks like it was handed down to her or purchased at a secondhand store. Check out Greene Street Consignment, Platos Closet, Salvation Army, Second Time Around, Sophisticated Seconds, Vamp, etc. The thick clasped belt also appears secondhand. Utilized the aforementioned establishments. Moccasins are an easy find at Aldo, Payless, Steve Madden, Target, etc. Lastly, a headband such as this is best found at Anthropologie, Claire’s, Free People, Modcloth.com, etc.

Style tip?

My one styling tip would be to replace the moccasins with an awesome tan/camel colored boot—I believe this will rev the engine a bit more. Apply the following examples:
