What I like about this look?

What an eye catcher! The vibrant colors are so aesthetically pleasing, it’s hard not to feel happy when you look at her. But the color is just one aspect that makes this a strong look. The strength comes from the pattern, structure, and presence. Providing a patterned piece (her top) somewhere in your ensemble helps to create depth in the overall look. To balance her bright stripes, she has provided dark wash jeans and a solid colored jacket—any more patterns and the ensemble may explode. To counterbalance the soft line of her top, she uses a structured yellow jacket. Her dahlia colored heels pull the bottom and top portion of the look together by matching the dahlia stripes in her blouse. More importantly, the heels help to draw our attention to the whole look, rather than just the top half. Lastly, this lovely lady’s stance and smile demonstrates confidence—she owns this ensemble. This assurance rubs off on the viewer, deflating any ideas we had of second guessing her appearance.

Where could this outfit be worn?

This outfit is excellent for daytime and evening socializing. It’s not a club look, but more so a dinner and a movie look.

Where can you buy this particular look?

A bright blouse like this can be found at Anthropologie, Etsy, JCrew, Old Navy, “Revolve” by Equipment on ThisNext.com, and Urban Outfitters.  A bright colored jacket can be found at Bebe, Jane Post, Joan Rivers for QVC, Old Navy, New York & Co., and theclothingmenu.com. A bright colored platform pump like this one can be found at Aldo, Nine West, Steve Madden, ShopStyle.com, Victoriassecret.com, and Zappos.com.

Style tip?

My one styling tip would be to switch out the big bag for a smaller one and in a color less severe than black; there are so many beautiful colors in this ensemble that the black just dampens it a little. I recommend a bright blue clutch or shoulder bag.
