Philly's 1st-Ever Fashion Week

Celebrate fashion, culture and art at Philly Fashion Week

For three days, celebrate fashion -- Philly style.

The first ever Philadelphia Fashion Week starts Thursday, Oct. 8 and goes until Saturday, Oct. 10 at the 23rd Street Armory.

Doors open at 4 p.m. each day and the runway show starts at 5 p.m. Before the show, fashionistas 21 and over are invited to enjoy cocktails, appetizers and shopping at "pop-up boutiques," which will feature runway looks from local retailers. After the fashion show each night, the party will continue with concerts from headlining bands beginning at 8 p.m. For a full schedule of events, click here.

Philly Fashion Week is unique and unlike other traditional runway shows because each show will be about 20 minutes long (usually they are shorter), as featured designers, from Philly and beyond will have the option of mixing their holiday 2009 collections with their spring and summer 2010 lines.

Each night will also feature the collections of student designers from the Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia University, and the Art Institute of Philadelphia. On Saturday night, before the musical performance, the winning school of the Student Design Award will be announced.

Tickets are available online and cost $75 per day or $150 for a three-day pass.

If you are a Philly fashionista, you don't want to miss this.
