Put on Your Wings, the Bowl Is Back

Rise and Shine and put your game face on. The WIP Wing Bowl 19 will take place on Feb. 4 at the Wells Fargo Center starting at 6 a.m.

"This is one of the most exciting and unpredictable events of the year," says Angelo Cataldi who co-founded the wing bowl with radio partner Al Morganti.

With an abundance of wings, beer, floats, and of course excitement, what man or woman wouldn’t want to take part?

The winner of this year’s wing bowl will win a prize of $20,000 in cash as well as additional prizes from Sports Radio 610.

The Wing Bowl winners will walk away with a 2011 Ram 1500 pick-up truck from Chapman Chrysler Jeep and Now Dodge in Horsham. They will also win $20,000 from Steven Singer Jewelers and a day of beauty from Joseph Anthony Retreat Salon and Spa.

Last year at Wing Bowl 18, the Wingettes as well as "Jersey Shore" star Snooki made an appearance.

This year, five-time Wing Bowl winner Bill “El Wingador” Simmmons will be competing against Jonathan Squibb, a two-time undefeated champion.

The proceeds from the 2011 Bowl will benefit the Philadelphia Police Department Survivors Fund, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation as well as the Comcast –Spectator Foundation.

WIP Wing Bowl 19 will feature only select eaters who will be eating wings supplied by P.J Whelihans, the official supplier for four years.

Over 20,000 listeners will gather at the Wells Fargo Center during the event to cheer on these 30 competitors in their battle to see who can eat the most wings.
