BBQ and Blues in Full Effect Down the Shore

Wildwood hosts NJ State Barbecue Championship, Anglesea Blues Festival

If you like to indulge in mouth-watering ribs, brisket and pork while enjoying the best blues music has to offer, then head to North Wildwood this weekend.

Kicking off Friday and lasting through the weekend, the three-day New Jersey State Barbecue Championship and the Anglesea Blues Festival, is sure to bring some tasty food and great music to New Jersey Avenue.

The festival features barbecue teams from around the country showing off their skills on the grill in hopes of being named champion of the grill.

Teams will compete by attempting to create near perfect marinated and seasoned meals that are grilled to satisfy any taste -- proving that grilling is nothing less than an art.

During the festival guests will enjoy free live musical sets featuring Bluebone, the Blue Brotherhood (a tribute to the Blues Brothers), Tom "Bones" Malone and many more.

Judging for the Barbecue grand championship will be conducted by the Kansas City Barbecue Society and a panel of volunteer judges.

The best part -- admission is free for everyone so bring the whole gang!

But any proceeds they do get from selling items will benefit the Anglesea Volunteer Fire Company.
