Uh, apparently there are lots and lots of trainiacs (people obsessed with trains) in the world. Enough that Amtrak declared Saturday, May 8, National Train Day.

But you don't have to be a trainiac to enjoy all the events that National Train Day has to offer.

From 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. get to 30th Street Station and celebrate with live music, train displays, exhibits, baseball, cooking demos and more. The day-long event will also feature a kid’s depot that will definitely keep your little ones busy with interactive games, face painters and educational, hands on activities.

Take tours of all Amtrak trains as well as their equipment, an in-depth exploration of the rails and how they affect our economy and, among other things, a Snapshot Station where you can have your picture taking in front of a "train."

But that's not all; Amtrak's got plenty of surprises up their sleeves, so go, it's free!
