Superman Touches Ground in Philly

The comic book superhero will start his journey in West Philly

Hey cartoon buffs! If you can get the morning crud out of your eyes, you just might catch a glimpse of the man of steel on your sidewalk as your grabbing the morning mail, according to the Inquirer.

DC Comics is launching a ‘first of its kind’ comic book series this week in which Superman will travel by foot across America doing what he does best, good deeds.

The first issue is set here in the City of Brotherly Love and according to the script the comic book superhero will start his journey at 48th and Larchwood Streets.

It starts with Clark Kent -- for all who don’t know that’s Superman’s earthly name --stopping at a diner for a famous Philly cheese steak. He is short on cash so the waitress allows him to work it off by cleaning the storeroom. This goes to show you that even Superman would get his hands dirty for a Philly Cheese steak.

This 12-issue series, called "Grounded," will run through next June, and people in other cities are encouraged to send in story ideas.

Here's your chance to participate in mapping out Superman’s journey. You never know, he might end up on your doorstep.
