Who Can Eat the Most Kosher Wings?

Shank Bowl is going down on Thursday in NoLibs

Who Can Eat the Most Kosher Wings?
    Get your wing on.

If the idea of waiting until next winter for the Wing Bowl has you missing that wing sauce burn, check out Shank Bowl, Philadelphia’s kosher cluck bowl.

The Shank Bowl (the name references the lamb shank bone on the Passover Seder plate) will take place at Finnegan’s Wake in Northern Liberties on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The Jewish National Fund is sponsoring this event for the second year. Proceeds from the event will help fund an indoor rec center located in Sderot, Israel that JNF helped build for the area’s kids.

“The area is getting hit with missiles almost everyday from Gaza and this indoor recreation center is a safe haven for the people to go to be protected from the attacks,” said JNF campaign executive Rachel Baum.

The top man and woman (that's right there are two separate competitions in one) will be awarded a cash prize donated by Venmo.com.

KYW Newsradio 1060's Hadas Kuznits will be the emcee and NBC Philadelphia’s own Dan Stamm will be a contestant vying for bragging rights of being the kosher wing king.

The Shank Bowl costs 15 bucks but it's well worth it considering that the proceeds go to a good cause and attendees get a three-hour open bar. Also, Prizes will be given away throughout the evening for the non-eaters in the crowd.

Check it out for a spicy good time benefitting a great cause.
