“Bleed for Preston and Steve”

Type O Negative blood most needed

WMMR morning show hosts Preston and Steve need you blood -- well the Red Cross needs it -- the DJs are just making sure you give it.

P&S  are holding their fifth annual blood drive with the Red Cross on Saturday.

What’s the incentive to donate with Preston and Steve? Donors will receive an “I Bleed for Preston & Steve” T-shirt and will be entered into a raffle to win two tickets to see Creed at the Susquehanna Bank Center August 17.

The blood drive is happening from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Philadelphia cruise terminal (5100 S. Broad St.) at the Navy Yard.

Breakfast and lunch will be available -- egg sandwiches for breakfast, pizza for lunch -- from Beatrice’s Inferno. Unfortunately it’s not free. But Beatrice’s is Philly’s only mobile pizza oven -- worth checking out.

You must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds to donate. In Pennsylvania and New Jersey, 16 year olds can donate if a parent allows it.

If you have Type O Negative blood, the Red Cross especially needs you to donate. The levels are critically low. Remember -- you can save three people’s lives by donating.

Make an appointment before noon on Friday to secure your donating time. You can do it online or call 1-800-RED-CROSS and give the sponsor code 12658. Walk-ups are not allowed, so make sure to make an appointment.
