Pearl Jam to Headline “Made in America”

It's day two of the "Made in America" Festival. Several thousand music fans will converge on the Ben Franklin Parkway.

Pearl Jam is headlining day two of the "Made in America" Festival. Eddie Vedder and the band are scheduled to take the Rocky Stage at 9 p.m.

More than 43-thousand people attended the festival on Saturday on the Ben Franklin Parkway.

Rapper and "Made in America" organizer Jay-Z wowed the crowed on Saturday night.

President Obama made a surprise appearance on a screen behind Jay Z during the show, telling the crowd the music mogul is someone who "refused to quit." The president said the event shows "what's possible when people from all walks of life go as far as their talents will take them."  He signed off, after telling everyone at the concert to register and vote.

"Made in America" starts at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Here is the schedule:

  • Liberty Stage - The Hives, Rita Ora, Odd Future, X
  •  Rocky Stage - Santigold, Jill Scott, Run-DMC, Drake, Pearl Jam
  •  DJ Tent - milkman, the Knocks, Burns, Michael Woods, DJ Shadow, Alesso, Afrojack

Several streets near the venue closed at 6 a.m. and SEPTA is encouraging concert-goers to use public transporation.

Seven camera crews are shooting footage of the two-day event for a film set to be released in 2013. Oscar-winning director Ron Howard is directing the movie.
