You don't have to be a Villanova student or alum to take advantage of their big match up against Duke Thursday night.
Here are some great places to cheer on the Wildcats. These local bars are offering specials to serve the March Madness crowds. You can't avoid the madness.
If you're in the Villanova area and want to watch the game with crazed, drunk students, try Brownies 23 East in Ardmore, Pa. The bar is opening two hours early (7 p.m.) to kick off the big game. Wings: 25 cents, slice of pizza: $1.00, draft beer: $2.00, watching Villanova versus Duke with die hard 'Nova fans: priceless.
In the South Philly area, the South Philly Bar and Grill (right by Pat's and Geno's Steaks) is offering $2.50 Yuenglings. After the game there will be a beer pong tournament because Thursdays are college nights, after all.
If you like the South Street Scene, try O'Neals Irish Sports pub. They have $2.50 Bud bottles.
Rittenhouse is even selling out to the March Madness crowds.
Cavanaughs Rittenhouse will have 35 cent wings from 8 p.m. until 12 p.m., as well as $3.00 Bud products.
The Public House will have $3.00 Coors specials.
If you're in the heart of Center City, The Field House will be celebrating March Madness with The Young Friends of the Philadelphia Youth Network. A $10 donation, which goes toward the Work Ready Summer Internship program, will get you $3 draft beer, $4 wine glasses and $5 Absolut drinks and appetizers.
Wherever you watch -- go Wildcats!
