Make Time Friday Night

Remember Sparks?

You should, if you’ve experienced the city’s club scene to any extent. But for the uninitiated: Sparks was basically an alcoholic energy drink.

But late last year, MillerCoors (which owns the brand), took the caffeine out of the drink citing health concerns. And Philly’s nightlife scene mourned. Seriously.

Just in time for Friday the 13, however, one Philadelphia party will be bringing Sparks back from the dead. Making Time, practically an institution in the city, is hosting an event at Pure (1221 St. James St.) from 9 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.—yes, that’s more than an hour-and-a-half past the 2 a.m. closing of most bars in Philly—and to prepare, they bought up all the remaining Sparks in the U.S.

No, really. And they’re so confident in their stash, the Making Time folks are offering a Sparks-and-PBR open bar from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Live guests will include Spank Rock and Heartsrevoluton, as well as DJs Dave P and Mike Z. And trust us: That’s just the tip of the iceberg. (Hey, Pure's multiple floors means way more names than we're comfortable dropping in one story!)

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. For two hours of Sparks-and-PBR, you won’t find a better deal in the city.
