1st LGBT Group to Perform in Philly's 4th of July Celebration

The DC Cowboys come for some brotherly love

There will be some brotherly loving in the City of Brotherly Love Saturday July 3.

The DC Cowboys, a dance company that competed on season three of America’s Got Talent, will perform in Philly’s Fourth of July Welcome America Parade.

The Cowboys will be the first LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) group to ever perform in the celebration.

The DC Cowboys are an all-male country line-dancing group from Washington, D.C. that calls their style “Brokeback meets Broadway.” Their dance moves aren’t too intricate, but their energy is contagious.

The show begins at 5 p.m. at the William Way Community Center with dancing, food and meet and greets. At 11 p.m. head over to The Bike Stop for some more quality time with the Cowboys.

Tickets cost $10 to get into both events. It costs just $5 to meet the group at The Bike Stop. All proceeds will benefit Philadelphia FIGHT, an organization that raises money for AIDS education and research.

Tickets are available through Philadelphia FIGHT, Giovanni’s Room, the William Way Center and The Bike Stop.

Slap on your cowboy hats and come out to support the gay community in Philadelphia. Yee-haw!
