It's not everyday you get to see a movie shown underground on the Broad Street Line, an interactive public mural made of lights or see thousands of plastic bottles turned into uplifting designs, but thanks to the 11-day Design Philadelphia event, you can.

Design Philadelphia hosted by University of the Arts, is the nation’s largest festival of its kind. And it's all going down October 7 to October 17 and will feature over 450 designers.

110 events will display all areas of design including furniture, automotive, interior, graphic, fashion. Students, professionals and artists will all partake in the exhibits and try to capture their audience by showing the impact design has on everyone’s daily lives.

The best part about the event is you can be enlightened and educated about all kinds of design for free. That’s right, most of the exhibits won’t cost you a penny.

For dates, times, locations and details of the events check out the calendar on the Design Philadelphia website.
