Broad Street Run Registration Begins Today

Online sign-up begins

UPDATE: Dozens of frustrated people turned to social media Wednesday morning as reports surfaced of issues with the Broad Street Run registration process.

Calls by NBC10 to the Broad Street Run weren't returned Wednesday but they did post some comments to Facebook including a denial that the BSR servers failed that was posted around 1 p.m.

Servers have not crashed, instead they have been running very slowly due to volume. Hundreds of runners continue to be registered every minute. Thank you for your patience!

Run, don’t walk, to your computer Wednesday morning to make sure you are part of the mad dash down Broad Street in one of the most popular races in Philadelphia.

Registration for the 33rd Annual Blue Cross Broad Street Run opened just before 9:45 a.m. Wednesday for the race to be held on May 6.

Online registration for the “largest 10-miler in the United States” is certain to fill up quickly if the past few years have been any indication as registration closes sooner and sooner.

Per the Philadelphia Business Journal:

The Broad Street Run organization says sign up now or you may lose your chance, it’s not exaggerating. Last year, all 30,000 spots for the annual 10-mile race were sold out in four and a half days...

The cost for the annual dash is $40 and includes the race, race expo, amenities and a T-shirt.

Be sure to sign up now before all those non-runners buy up bibs and post them on Craigslist for twice the price.
