Bring “The Other Guys” to Philly

Use Facebook to get Wahlberg and Ferrell's "Other Premiere" to our city

How does a visit from the hunky Mark Wahlberg and the hilarious Will Ferrell sound?

Don’t freak out yet -- there’s a catch. Philly has to vote for the dynamic duo to come to the City of Brotherly Love on Facebook.

The guys are promoting their new movie The Other Guys, with a special premiere called "The Other Premiere" on August 5.

Although the film's World Premiere will be in Manhattan three days earlier, Philadelphia can have the "other" premiere if they get enough votes.

Philly is one of 20 cities nominated to get the famous stars to host the red carpet event.

If Philly comes out on top, Marky Mark shouldn't have trouble getting around. He has filmed a handful of movies including The Happening, Invincible, Shooter and The Lovely Bones in the area.

As for Wahlberg's latest project. In The Other Guys, two less-than ordinary cops live in the shadows of star NYPD detectives (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson) until they get stuck with a case that lands them right in the middle of the Big Apple’s biggest crime.

In addition to this already all-star cast, Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan and Ray Stevenson provide even more good looks and laughs -- all for the sake of a great comedy.

“Get on Facebook and vote, and we’ll bring 'The Other Premiere' to you,” said the movie’s director Adam McKay in a press release.

Wahlberg and Ferrel even left a funny video message for their fans on Facebook.

So stay tuned, because the stars will announce the winning city on August 2.

“We’ve all had those moments when we’ve had to watch some other guy be the cool guys,” said McKay. “But your city can be the cool city.”
