The votes are in -- all 66,000 of them -- and the Phillies have themselves a new ballgirl.
Who is she?
The lucky girl is Kami Mattioli, a Temple University student from Wayne, Pa.
Mattioli beat out four other girls for the honor of rounding out the 2010 Phillies Ballgirl team.
"I can't thank everyone enough for voting for me," said Mattioli. "My friends and family have been truly supportive through this process, and I could not have won without their help."
She was the first ballgirl to land a spot on the team courtesy of the Internet -- this was the first time that a spot was decided by the public.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the results,” said Phillies Community and Charity Events Manager Michele DeVicaris. “We have fantastic additions to the Phillies Ballgirl roster. These young women will no doubt be terrific role models both on and off the field.”
