Pongers everywhere -- this is not your average frat party! Thursday, June 11 to Saturday, June 13, see beer pong at its finest during The World Beer Pong Tournament at the Resort Casino in Atlantic City.
The sport of beer pong has risen in status from the college frat house to the mainstream casino. And it’s a game of skill, not just something that feeds the beer bellies of drunken college buffoons.
Pong is a game that can be appreciated by everyone. It offers competition, beer, suspense, chants and glory. There is no other game like it since drinking while playing actually makes you substantially better on the table. And it’s increasing in national popularity. This year over 140 teams are competing in Atlantic City to be named king of the table and win the $25,000 grand prize.
Teams like “Pongaholics,” “We Own Your Face,” “Getcha Popcorn Ready,” and “You will never get this” will battle until one solo cup remains.
There are some “House Rules” like no bouncing and no swatting the ball before it hits the cup. If you have played before the rules are pretty standard.
The tournament is 18 and over to play and 21 to stay in the casino. Each team that participates must pay $200 to enter into the competition, but heck, the winner gets that back and more!
Other prizes for teams include a cash prize for the top five teams and additional prizes for the top ten teams.
It cost 10 bucks for a weeknd pass to go and watch the tourny, not too bad! On June 11 activities begin at 3 p.m., on June 12 at 10 a.m. and on June 13 at 11 a.m.
