9/14: Food, Fun and Philly Fringe

Restaurant Week: Now through Friday is Center City District Restaurant Week. Take advantage of three-course lunches for $20 and three-course dinners for $35. Over 100 restaurants in Center City participate and this is a great way to have a date on a budget (hint, hint gentlemen). Bring your friends, a date or have a birthday party at any of the participating restaurants. Plus, many restaurants offer diners discounted rates for parking. Center City, Philadelphia, Pa. 19103.

Mondays at Millcreek: Tonight’s karaoke night at Millcreek Tavern in University City. If you can’t do karaoke sober because you’re too embarrassed, take advantage of Millcreek’s $12 open bar. We’re sure after a few drinks, you’ll be singing (or at least think you're singing) like Whitney or maybe more like Miley. After the drinks and tunes, end your night with all-you-can-eat wings. This has gotta be the best special in town. Millcreek Tavern, 4200 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. 19104, +21, 10 p.m.

Hard Times: The economy has affected everyone, including circus members. See how six unemployed circus workers deal with their life outside their once budding careers in the new Philly Fringe show, It’s Hard Times at the Camera Blanca. From tiger tamers to crazy clowns, the characters' stories are interlocking and unfold simultaneously. The cool thing about this show is that you, the audience, will get to choose which characters' story you want to follow as you watch the show. Tickets for this hour show are only $10. Murph’s Bar, 202 E. Girard Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. 19125, 6 p.m.
