5/8-5/9: Mayfest, Music and Mother's Day Brunches

Dad Vail Regatta: Take a stroll down Kelly Drive this Saturday and watch the 72nd Dad Vail Regatta. Over 100 colleges and universities will come together for the largest collegiate regatta in the U.S. Thousands of students, coaches, athletes and fans will grace the Schuylkill River for this all-day event. Manayunk Mayfest: This Saturday afternoon head into Manayunk for this year’s Mayfest. Spend your day at The Ugly Moose and jam to three bands: Second Majesty, Octane and 39 Mariner. Plus, your ticket to the show is good for one drink or a hamburger, hot dog or chicken sandwich. Drink specials include beer, Red Bull and flavored lemonade benefiting Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Agualung: With a surprise success story, Matt Hales, better known as Agualung, has soared to popularity with his hits “Strange and Beautiful” and “Brighter Than Sunshine.” Growing up in England, Hales became a musical prodigy at the tender age of 17 through composing his first symphony. Get Crafty: If your mom is more of the artsy type, bring her to the Clay Studio for a Mother’s Day brunch followed by a pottery lesson.
