Unwigged and Unplugged

First, they brought you hard-rock classics like “Big Bottom,” “Nice’n’Stinky” and “Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You Tonight.”

Later, the boys from Spinal Tap reunited (well, sort of…), changed their genre and their name, and produced folk gems “Barnyard Symphony” and “Never Did No Wanderin.’”

But to fans of Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, it doesn’t matter whether the guys are rocking out or wearing flannel—they’re comedic icons who never fail to get big laughs in mockumentaries like “This is Spinal Tap” and “A Mighty Wind.”

The "band" will return to the stage in our area May 14 with “Unwigged & Unplugged,” an acoustic performance at the Keswick Theatre. The Philly performance is part of a multi-city tour for the comedians, a first-ever, pared-down performance of their best songs, without wigs, costumes or electric guitars.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 6 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com.
