Toast the Newest Vintage at Beaujolais Day

Cities across the globe celebrate Beaujolais Day, and this year, Philadelphia is no exception.

Held in honor of the first release of Beaujolais Nouveau, a red wine from the Beaujolais region of France, the annual celebration marks the debut of the wine, which is made from the harvest of Gamay grapes. It’s always held the third Thursday of November.

The Sofitel (120 S. 17th St.) will host a free Beaujolais Day party for Philadelphians Thursday, Nov. 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., complete with samples of the 2008 vintage, live music and hors d’oeuvres.
