Run for clean air on Saturday

The Clean Air Council is urging Philadelphians to Run for Clean Air on Earth Day, Saturday, April 18.

"...It’s an ideal opportunity to support the Council’s important work to reduce the air pollution that triggers asthma and other respiratory problems; to support programs that keep waste and toxic e-waste materials out of landfills; to support the Council’s efforts to advocate for more wind energy, and to strengthen efforts to slow global warming,” said the Council's Executive Director, Joseph Otis Minott, Esq.

For 28 years the 5K run has had more than 50,000 participants and with pre-race yoga, post-race massages and an Earth Day Celebration following the run, we're sure the streets will be packed this year, too.

The run begins on Martin Luther King Drive (next to the Art Museum) at 9 a.m. with the celebration featuring live music, local artists, puppets, green giveaways and more to follow at 10 a.m.
