Nothing Compares To The Original

Over 60 years later, a classic play still entertains

Born Yesterday opens today at the Walnut Street Theater and despite its 1940s timeframe, it's guaranteed to entertain a modern-age crowd. Think Legally Blonde goes to Washington and you've pretty much figured out the plot.

The hugely popular play was originally staged in 1946 and opened to rave reviews. Director George Cukor adapted for the screen in 1950, with Judy Holliday and William Holden. If the name sounds familiar to you, it's probably due to the 1993 remake that starred Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. It may be difficult, but try not to hold that version against the original.

The production runs through April 26. Tickets range from $10 to $60.
