Famed Philly Chef Curses Out Mag President

Famed chef Georges Perrier of Le Bec-Fin cursed out Philadelphia Magazine president David Lipson at a PAWS benefit last week, according to the Daily News.

The outburst -- laced with many profanities -- came on the heels of Le Bec-Fin's ranking (they were number 46) on the mag's list of Philly's Top 50 restaurants.

Perrier was so fired up, in fact, that bystanders thought the chef might have a heart attack.

But the two made nice the very next day when Lipson and his dad lunched at Le Bec. It seems Perrier swallowed a big piece of humble pie and apologized. Lipson graciously accepted the apology.

"Georges is very passionate. He's done a lot for Philadelphia, he put us on the culinary map. It was just Georges being Georges," Lipson told the paper.

Aw, isn’t that sweet.
