Thanksgiving Fun From 5Ks to Science

Want to do something different on Thanksgiving Day?

If you’re afraid to gain weight during holiday -- participate in a Run or Walk.

The Nazareth YMCA is hosting their 2nd annual Pumpkin Pie 5K Run and 1.5 Mile Scenic Walk on Thanksgiving day.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and the actual run/walk starts at 9 a.m. at Nazareth’s Center Square. Bring a furry friend for the doggie costume contest at 8:45 a.m.

In Flemington, N.J. there will be the 16th annual (Totally Cool) Center for Educational Advancement & Johanna Foods Turkey Trot. The race will start at 9:30 a.m.

Sparta, N.J. will host a Krogh's Thanksgiving Morning 5K and Fun Run at Lake Mohawk. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., the 1M Fun run/walk starts at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K run/walk will start at 8:45 a.m.

Looking for tradition and football?

Easton Area High will take on Phillipsburg High in the 102nd edition of their Thanksgiving Day football rivalry. The game is held at Fisher Field at Lafayette College and starts at 10:30 a.m.

Last year, Easton took home the win.

Looking to go out on the town?

There’s a Thanksgiving Day Party at the FunHouse on S East 4th Street in Bethlehem, Pa. The party begins at 10 p.m. and will feature the Trouble City All-Stars band. The cover is only $4.

How about some science?

Thanksgiving Leftover Science Weekend is something for the whole family to enjoy at the Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown, Pa. Investigate the DNA of corn, the power of cranberries, how potatoes light up a room and much more! The event lasts from November 28 to December 1.
