Limerick Generating Station

The emergency warning sirens are set to go off at 2 p.m. on Monday as part of semi-annual testing at the nuclear power station in Montgomery County, officials said.

People in the vicinity of Montgomery County’s only nuclear power plant could be hearing sirens Monday morning.

The Limerick power plant is conducting a siren test and residents in Montgomery, Chester and Berks counties could hear the noise.

Exelon Generation will test its emergency warning sirens surrounding Limerick Generating Station on Monday, June 1, at 2:00 p.m. This is the first test of two semi-annual tests, with the second to be conducted in December.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission extends the operating licenses of both units at a suburban Philadelphia nuclear plant.
