The coronavirus pandemic has left ACCT Philly nearly $1 million in the hole as funding has dried up, but pet lovers have been helping keep them operating. And they want you to bring home a furry friend as part of our special Clear the Shelters event. NBC10’s Pamela Osborne explains.

The kennels at ACCT Philly are once again full. To make more room and allow pets a chance at a fur-ever home, the shelter is waiving adoption fees March 30 and 31.

Butcy is a senior dog who’s deaf, but he will occasionally surprise you with his spryness. This mellow guy is looking for someone who can spend plenty of time hanging out with him at home.

Diamond has a New Year’s wish in 2019, and that’s to find a family. This pitty mix was found on the street, but she’s very mellow and would do great with kids.

Man-man’s family lost their home unexpectedly and the poor guy has since been waiting in a shelter. This sweet and calm pit bull mix is looking for a foster family that can take care of him while he waits to be reunited with his owners.

Snoopy has been the longest-term resident at the Animal Care and Control Team’s Philadelphia shelter, and he doesn’t want to wait forever for a loving home. The ACCT is full and will be waiving adoption fees for Snoopy and other pets on Dec. 8 and 9.
