One Year of Firsts: Lend a Voice to a Non-Profit

Day 26

Volunteers are love in motion! ~Author Unknown

Today I volunteered my voice to JEVS Human Services. It's a non-profit organization that operates a Court Reporting training program.  My job? To read a script for a video explaining what a court reporter does and how you can get special training.

It was actually fun going to Primitive World Production Studios for the recording this morning.  I forgot my flipcam this morning so Michael Schweisheimer was kind enough to use one of his cool cameras to show you a little of the recording process.

Hope it helps someone find a great career documenting court proceedings. Did you know court reporters make about 60-thousand dollars a year? And there is a real need for more court reporters?

In this difficult economic time, it's a great skill and profession. Here's a link to JEVS Human Services Organization if you would like more information.
