One Year of Firsts: Hang in the Rain

Day 117

Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain. ~ author unknown

I normally avoid rain like most reasonable people. Today I decided to just let it wash down on me.  Hang out in it. Get my hair drenched. No umbrella. No hat.

(I apologize, my camera malfunctioned. Actually, it was probably operator error, so no video today.  )

When I was a kid, we used to run outside and play in a Spring rain. I don't know why my parents didn't stop us.  I think they were thinking it might replace a bath that night. It was glorious though.  I remember that.

It's hard to recapture that feeling.  Maybe you can't.  But there was something liberating this afternoon just standing there, looking up, drops dripping off my nose and thinking, "Come on, rain on me good. I'm fine with this."

The sun is just not going to shine every day. It's just not.  Some days you just have to embrace whatever you get.

Today I got soaking wet for absolutely no good reason, except to remind myself, I'm here and I'm alive. Another day that is not the same as yesterday.
