NBC Philadelphia and NBC Chicago are getting in the fun by making some wagers on their hometown hockey teams.
In traditional rival town fashion we’ve wagered food on our Flyers and Blackhawks.
The morning shows in each city got the wagering going.
The NBC10 Morning Show put up Tastykakes, Philly soft pretzels and a dozen cheesesteaks. While the NBC5 Morning Team wagered deep-dish pizza, Garrett’s popcorn and Sather's cinnamon rolls.
The losing morning team will have to send the food to the winning show.
And not to be outdone the station general managers got into the wagering mix. The GM in the losing market will buy lunch for the entire news team in the winning city.
If Philly wins they get deep-dish pie from Chi-town, if the Windy City wins they get cheesesteaks.
Now the question is how the GM’s plan on shipping hot food.
And, hopefully this time the losing station will pay up the bet unlike Bay Area NBC that failed to send an iPad to NBC Chicago after the San Jose Sharks lost to the Hawks.
