  • 3-day supply of water
  • Flash flights
  • Battery-powered radio
  • Extra Batteries 
  • First Aid Kit
  • Non electric can opener
  • Toiletries/Hygiene Items
  • Blankets, Pillows
  • Full tank of gas in your car
  • Telephones; fully charged, with extra battery
  • Cash (with some small bills and credit cards)
  • Basic Tools (screw driver, wrench, hammer)
  • Important Documents; insurance, medical records, social security cards, passports (in waterproof container)

WHAT TO DO DURING THE HURRICANE

  • Secure all windows in home
  • Stay inside, and away from windows
  • Unplug unnecessary appliances
  • Remain inside until an “all clear” is given

WHAT NOT TO DO DURING THE HURRICANE

  • Do not call 911 unless it is an emergency
  • In case of lightning, avoid showering, or being in contact with water
  • After the storm, avoid contact with trees near power lines, or fallen power line wires
