Keith Jones is an anchor at NBC10 News. You can watch Keith’s live newscasts at 5 p.m. He also serves as a fill-in anchor for NBC10 News at 6 p.m and 11 p.m. and files reports for NBC10 News.
A native of New Egypt in Ocean County, New Jersey, Keith enjoys telling stories about people that shape the place in which he grew up. He loves to write, be creative and tell stories that affect the community where he is from.
Keith has covered an array of exciting stories for NBC10, including the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia, Super Bowl 49 in Arizona, but his favorite was covering the Villanova Men’s Basketball National Title run in 2016.
“As a former Villanova basketball manager when I was an undergrad, and a current Adjunct Professor, it was the perfect marriage, NBC and ‘Nova, of personal passions,” said Jones.
Keith was honored with a Mid-Atlantic Emmy® award for “Best Newscast” in 2013, a 2016 Mid-Atlantic Emmy® Award for “Continuing Coverage” for the “Train Derailment,” and an Edward R. Murrow award for “Train Derailment” in 2015.
Keith attended Villanova University where he studied Communications and Philosophy. An avid Phillies sports fan, he also interned at NBC10 in the Sports Department during his time in college.
Prior to joining NBC10 in July 2012, Keith was an anchor/reporter at WHSV, the ABC affiliate, in Harrisburg, VA. He then went on to work as a reporter/fill-in anchor at WTAE, the ABC affiliate, in Pittsburgh. Since 2013, Keith has also served as an adjunct professor of broadcast journalism at Villanova University. In 2014 he was honored with Villanova University’s annual Ethos Award, which recognizes an alumnus who serves as a role model to students by demonstrating character, service, and excellence in the field of communication. The same year, Keith was awarded Villanova University’s Young Alumni Medallion, bestowed annually upon one University alumni that excels in his or her professional endeavors and demonstrates ongoing service to the community and the University.
An active member of the community, Keith volunteers on the Board of Directors for nonprofits Main Line Deputy Dog, and has recently accepted the invitation to be on the Board of Directors for Turning Points for Children and the Philadelphia Fireman’s Museum. He is also an active volunteer with the American Red Cross of Eastern Pennsylvania and Villanova’s Office of Disability Services.
In his free time Keith enjoys playing both the guitar and piano and has even recorded original music.
