Jessica Boyington is a traffic reporter for NBC10 News Today. You can watch her live reports weekdays from 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Jessica is most passionate about reporting on breaking news when it comes to traffic. She understands how important commuting is to the people of the area and gets excited when she is able to help people figure out the best route to take.
“It’s thrilling to get information out to the viewers first,” Jessica said.
A local native of the region, Jessica was born in Philadelphia and grew up in New Jersey. She feels deeply connected to the area. All of her friends and family live in the area, and they are always reaching out for travel advice. They even sometimes tip her off with accidents or trouble that they see on the roads that she incorporates in her reports.
Prior to joining NBC10, Jessica received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications specializing in Radio, Television and Film from Rowan University. She also was Miss New Jersey USA in 2006.
A lover of animals, Jessica is actively involved in the NBCUniversal initiative, “Clear the Shelters” and holds a special place in her heart for dogs. She is the proud owner of two Jack Russell terriers, Taz, a cancer survivor, and Rocky, a rescue puppy from a puppy mill.
When Jessica is not reporting traffic, she enjoys being active and working out. She belongs to a CrossFit gym and enjoys running the trails in the Wissahickon Valley Park.
