Syrup Vandals Damage Church

Police are searching whoever vandalized an area church with syrup and fire extinguishers before taking off with a bottle of wine.

Last Monday night (June 10), vandals made their way inside some doors that were left open at St. Thomas More church on Pottstown Pike in Pottstown, Chester County, Pa., according to WFMZ-TV.

Police say the culprits sprayed fire extinguishers throughout the building, took maple syrup from the pantry and dumped it on the floor and stole a bottle of wine before leaving.

Longtime church members felt a sense of lost innocence.

"I find it really upsetting," church member Micaela Pupek told WFMZ. "Because I feel like churches should be able to have the doors open, and stuff shouldn't happen like that."

Police hope someone comes forward with details on the incident. Anyone with information should contact state police at 610-486-6280.
