Stockholm Police Help Girl Find Lost Teddy Bear

An off-duty officer uploads 'missing bear' poster to Södermalm police Facebook page

Police in Stockholm are trying to help a little girl find her teddy bear.

An off-duty officer intervened on behalf of Tyra Blomqvist to find the missing teddy bear after coming across posters her mother had posted, Sweden's The Local reported.

The officer uploaded the poster, which reads, “Have you seen my teddy bear, I dropped it somewhere on Hantverksgatan on June 19,” to the Södermalm police Facebook page.

“The teddy bear really means a lot to her,” mother Kristin Blomqvist reportedly told the Swedish news site Nyheter24. “She can’t sleep properly at night without it, and she searches for it when she wakes in the morning.”

The Facebook page has received over 1,000 "likes," but the bear remains to be found.

As a consolation, the police department gave Tyra a police mascot bear, a token usually reserved for officers who want to give a child a memento or for children who’ve experienced trauma, explained an officer on the Facebook page.

Tyra’s mother is hopeful that with the international attention this story has garnered the original bear will be found.
