Star of David Sunset: Act of God or Visual Coincidence?

After years of imagery of the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ showing up in everything from toast to water stains, the Jewish people might finally have their own religious icon seen in everyday life.

Fred Fabel snapped this fabulous sunset while on a cruise on the back bay of Brigantine, N.J.

Fred and his wife Jacqueline were shocked when they took a look at the digital photo after they got back from their trip.

Look closely and you might notice that the sunset snapshot taken along the Jersey Shore appears to form a Star of David -- the six-pointed star that is a symbol of the Jewish people and appears in the center of Israel’s flag.

Here’s the kicker: the cruise was a fundraising event for the couple's synagogue, Temple Beth Shalom.

Maybe it was a sign from God or maybe just a strange visual coincidence.

“On this I can’t tell you why,” said Jacqueline as she tried to explain the photo phenomenon. “I say a sign from above, maybe -- but that’s the only explanation I could come up with.”
