Suspected DUI Driver Passes Out With $5 Bill in Hand at Drive-Thru

A man suspected of driving under the influence passed out while trying to order fast food.

Police in Allentown, Pa. say they arrested a man found passed out in his running car at the drive-thru of a fast-food restaurant, with a $5 bill in his hand and a handgun on the seat.

The (Easton) Express-Times reports officers responded to the Wendy's on Union Boulevard on Thursday and found the man in the running car. Police say they unlocked the car, took the gun, put the vehicle in park and turned it off.

Investigators say that when 34-year-old Timothy Brightman woke up, he tried several times to put the car in drive and turn it on. Authorities arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence. They found marijuana in his pocket, according to the paper.

The Express-Times reports that police say he's wanted in an alleged domestic assault where he hit a pregnant woman with a microwave. He was held on $35,000 bail for charges including DUI, firearm possession without a license and driving on a suspended license, according to court records.

It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
