A Pittsburgh man told police he was trying to light his furnace while drinking moonshine when he started a small fire that burned his legs, according to investigators.
The fire erupted inside the unidentified man's Spring Hill home shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the small blaze in the basement.
The man was treated at UPMC Mercy hospital's burn unit for third-degree burns.
The victim told officers he was drinking the illegal booze when he tried to light his furnace causing a fire to erupt, police told WPXI.com.
Investigators did not immediately reveal if the man could face charges.
