The search for a 34-year-old woman in a western Pennsylvania park ended after she texted emergency responders to assure them she was fine.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Friday that the Latrobe resident told officials that after she got a speeding ticket she fled to the woods of Linn Run State Park out of fear she may be arrested.

Westmoreland County spokesman Dan Stevens told the paper the woman isn't expected to face any charges related to the search.

“She was watching everything. It was sure a waste of manpower,” Stevens told the paper. “A lot of resources were used for someone who didn't want to be found.”

Some 60 people, a bloodhound unit and a state police helicopter searched the 600-acre park most of Friday before the search was called off at about 9 p.m.

The search had lasted for about 12 hours when the unidentified woman turned up.
