Officials in Delaware say a farmer in Townsend has mowed down 20 marijuana plants someone planted in his cornfield.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control says the plants were up to five feet high when they were destroyed on Monday.
The plants were found in the field, near the Rocks Tract of the Cedar Swamp Wildlife Area.
Sgt. Gregory Rhodes, of the DNREC Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Division, told The News Journal that marijuana growers typically wait until corn gets high to plant marijuana between the rows of corn.
Agents don’t have any leads about who may planted them.
Under Delaware law, growing marijuana is a felony.
