Chicago Suburb Among Nation's “Snobbiest Cities”

Naperville ranked as no. 4 on the list

A Chicago suburb has been named among the nation’s snobbiest mid-sized cities.

According to Real Estate blog Movoto, Naperville is among the top five “snobbiest mid-sized cities in America.”

The blog, which released the list Thursday, said it looked at 100 mid-sized cities and used criteria like median home price, median household income, art galleries per capita, country clubs per capita and other “snobby statistics.”

The snobbiest city on the list was Pasadena, California, which was followed by Thousand Oaks, California and Alexandria, Virginia.

Naperville ranked as no. 4 on the list thanks to high household incomes, locals with college degrees and “world-wise and wealthy people.”

The western suburb also ranked high for having plenty of country clubs and fancy restaurants like Morton’s The Steakhouse, the blog said.

“Who ever said the best things in life are free? It definitely wasn’t Naperville,” the blog post read.

Six of the top 10 snobbiest cities listed were in California, along with Eugene, Oregon and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
