A burglary suspect was captured riding a stolen bike as he tried to make his escape in New Castle County Tuesday morning, according to Delaware State Police.
On Wednesday morning State Police sent out a press release about two burglaries committed in Stanton, Del.
Police say that Brian Giles, 50, of New Castle faces two counts of burglary and two counts of theft after he was captured riding a stolen bike away from the scene of a burglary.
It all started around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday when a woman who lives on the 400 block of Main Street says she saw a man stealing something from the shed behind her home, police said.
Cops say the woman called 911 and confronted the alleged burglar as police rushed to the scene. The woman says that the suspect dropped an item he had allegedly taken from the shed as she tried to follow him.
She lost track of guy but was able to give police a description that matched Giles and was also able to tell police that the suspect was carrying a blue bag with him. The homeowner kept the search up for the suspect and she later saw him riding a bike away from a driveway on the 4500 block of s Jane Way, police said.
A trooper then saw Giles riding a bike nearby and was able to stop and arrest him.

It was later discovered that the mountain bike was taken from a garage of a house on S Jane Way and a blue bag containing stolen items from the home on Main Street was discovered in the Jane Way garage, police said.
Giles was arraigned and released Wednesday morning on $6,000 unsecured bail.
