422 to Become a Toll Road?

Montgomery County planners are awaiting results for a study that could make Route 422 a toll road, reported KYW News Radio.

The reasoning behind the study is due to the much-needed upgrading on the road and declining state and federal funding for road projects.

Montgomery County’s assistant planning director Leo Bagley told KWY News Radio the feedback from the study would play a big role in the decision.

If the decision is made to turn 422 into a toll road it could happen within the next three to five years, and all tolls would be recorded on an electronic system that is comparable to EZ Pass.
